Bonanza/Empire Chief Mill, Photo from 2005

Bonanza/Empire Chief Mill located outside Capitol City, Colorado. The old mill looked like this in 2005. It had survived an avalanche that destroyed the mine office and bunkhouse on March 24th, 1929. Four of the mine workers were killed. Preservationists had made efforts to shore-up the structure. See the following photo of the mill in 2008.
